Are you an Inventory Controller who likes to ensure your stock management is highly accurate through systematic data input and routine stock checks? Can you train and influence colleagues to achieve outstanding levels of transaction, ensuring stock is accounted for, with any discrepancies or issues investigated and resolved quickly?

Superb sales growth and manufacturing output increases mean this critical role provides a key function to ensure production targets are met on time in full, to the right quantity and quality, so spot on inventory control is critical.  This opportunity is one where your vision and understanding can really make a difference.

 

Responsibilities of the Inventory Controller:

 

• Regular stock cycle counts as part of the audit program

• Investigating and correcting inventory issues through processing physical inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies

• Working with logistics and production teams to ensure LEAN manufacturing projects utilise optimum storage space and reduce stock variations

• Ensuring accurate data entry in the MRP system, produce monthly reports and stock ‘write-off’ performance data

• Review and complete training programs for colleagues so they can fully action the correct procedures, processes, and transactions

• Working closely with the logistics, purchasing and planning teams you will recommend process improvements to promote great inventory control through good visual management 

• Audit trails must be maintained following stock adjustments, transfers, and movement journals

• Waste elimination and LEAN promotion with suppliers & vendors will save money too.

 

The Inventory Controller skills and qualities:

 

• Experience of working in an engineering manufacturing inventory control role using modern stock control systems, with the responsibility for maintaining high levels of stock accuracy 

• A proven track record of influence to improve stock accuracy, reduce losses and wastage, manage stock cycle counts and the audit program to give maximum efficiency

• With a good level of education and very high attention to detail, you’ll be numerate and inquisitive

• An excellent team player with excellent communication and people skills to work across multiple departments, time manage and multi-task effectively

• Strong IT skills especially with MRP/ERP systems,  if you have Microsoft Dynamics experience that would be ideal though not essential
