If you are a proactive and talented Electrical Control Systems Engineer, with experience in control systems design for vehicle or mobile machinery applications, wishing to develop electrical harness / wiring loom design skills and expand your technical base, then this exceptional opportunity at the forefront of some revolutionary product development is for you! This new role for an Electrical Control Systems Engineer is to work on exciting new projects as well as upgrading and improving the existing product range.

You will be passionate about developing market leading products and all related control systems associated with automotive engineering, drives, powertrain, for environmentally clean engines.

 

Electrical Control Systems Engineer skills and qualities

• Electrical Engineering background with an HNC / HND or BEng and some experience in electrical control systems development 

• CAN bus systems design with ECU integration for automotive machinery and their applications into products

• PLC programming and use of IQAN software or similar

• Ideally some Powertrain / Hybrid engine experience in control system design 

• IT literate Excel / Word / ERP / MRP systems with 3D and 2D CAD skills in Solidworks or Arcadia ideally 

 

Electrical Control Systems Engineer development areas:

• Design and development of Electrical Looms / Harness and learn about Electrical Safety Control Systems to BS13849 

• Achieve DFMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) capabilities in conjunction with the production team, prototype and manufacturing engineers 

• Assist with the production of technical files for CE marking, and meet all directive and legislative requirements 

 

Electrical Control Systems Engineer activities:

• You’ll be taking whole complex electromechanical engineering products from concept right through design, prototyping, test to manufacture and launch utilising your electrical skills. You will get involved with production, the workshop and production engineering, using your knowledge and technical ability to bring what works best to this expanding UK manufacturer

• Be curious about technological developments in the electrical control system field, research, find answers, suggest options to achieve the design & build objectives

• Work closely with suppliers and purchasing to improve products with full engineering control of parts revision, Bills of Material (BOM’s), ensuring accurate technical specifications 

• Use your practical engineering experience, problem solve and think laterally, identify improvements whilst keeping an eye on the detail, be organised and able to manage multiple tasks

• Communicate and collaborate effectively with the team from production to design, quality to procurement, able to deliver commercially effective solutions and products
