This exciting opportunity for a NPI Engineer (New Product Introduction), if you are a hands-on, assembly experienced electro-mechanical engineer who can see the best ways to make complex products.

You’ll take new products through transition from prototype to “ready to launch state” working closely with design, production and quality to resolve any issues.  As a strong team player you create and introduce effective solutions, ensure the new products are tested and the manufacturing processes proven. 

As the NPI Engineer you will be:

Coordinate activities to transfer new products into production

Inspect and evaluate first production batch parts (First Article Inspections) using various metrology techniques

Liaise with design, R&D purchasing and quality to ensure components comply

Support engineering with prototype build, ease of assembly, measuring, recording, and reviewing results

• Design and develop jigs, tools or fixtures to improve build consistency

• Assemble the pre-production batch and highlight any design issues, 

Validate BOM’s, create SOP’s, update the MRP system, train production personnel and support once in production if issues occur

Test and analyse results, feeding back improvement ideas and solutions


Required skills and qualities of the NPI Engineer:

• Excellent experience in electro-mechanical engineering manufacturing assembly techniques, taking new products through to successful market release

• Able to read and interpret CAD engineering drawings, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and test results with the ability to problem solve and resolve effectively

• Proven skills in identifying design and assembly issues and then solving the problem with practical, constructive solutions

• Knowledge of testing / metrology techniques for mechanical / electrical / electronic products

• You will be a passionate engineer, positive, personable and detail focussed 

• Strong communication, time management, multi-tasking skills and able to work within the multi-disciplined team. 

• Sound working knowledge of MS Office with ideally PC based firmware programming equipment familiarity
